With a ball weight of only 90kg and a tare weight of 800kg, the Challenger Series III is a shorter, lighter, and lower profiled camper, and although costing just $25,500, it is manufactured without sacrificing the quality and features of Aussie Swag’s renowned larger models.
The chassis and draw bar are hot dipped galvanised and the body, kitchen and storage boxes are constructed from 1.2mm zinc anneal with two pack automotive paint or powder coating. The suspension combines Pedders double acting gas shock absorbers with Alko military style, six leaf shackle, rebound springs to provide genuine off road ability. The Challenger is equally comfortable on the beach, in the outback or just cruising along the black top.
Another standout feature of the Challenger is the slide-out and swing-around stainless steel kitchen with a built in bench, wind-guard, electric water pump, four burner stove and griller. A versatile Waeco battery pack provides power.
Housing the kitchen outside the main body of the camper frees up more space for storage under the lift up bed. There is also a dust and water sealed storage box on the draw bar.
The Challenger has all the advantages of a hard floor camper, being off the ground and easily opening and closing in seconds. The tent is made from the same water and mould proofed, Australian made canvas as Aussie Swag’s more expensive models and comes standard with a tropical roof and offside awning as well as the main annex roof. The tropical roof eliminates condensation on cold mornings, and together with the vented internal roof, cools the sleeping area in hot weather. There are also three large screened windows and three screened doorways for excellent ventilation. Comfortable camping is possible in all weather conditions.
The Challenger is wholly manufactured in Aussie Swag’s factory in Brendale, Queensland, ensuring there is no compromise in quality and durability.
